Book: Compassionate Satanism
“You are the one who holds power over your own life, not some deity.”
Lilith Starr (founder of the Satanic Temple’s Washington chapter) and her half biography, half manifesto presents a mandate for Modern Satanism and how it empowered her to defeat the very real demons of mental illness and addiction and to pioneer a daring new model of Satanic community.
Lilith’s Compassionate Satanism is a frank and honest perspective on modern life and religion. Whereas most books by Satanists are, frankly, pretentious and glad-handing, Lilith is approachable, likable, and memorable. The perspective of this volume is a little narrow–she presents a very insider-y view of the Satanic Temple; but it is her book, after all.
